Carissa Crayton-Sabo serves as a Marketing Manager with the Alabama Department of Commerce. She has been with the organization for nearly eight years and transitioned into External Affairs in 2023. In her role, Crayton-Sabo plans and executes marketing strategies that promote the State of Alabama and the services of the Alabama Department of Commerce to drive business growth and economic development statewide.

Her proudest career accomplishment is earning her MBA while working two jobs and pregnant with her first child—walking across the stage eight months pregnant, an achievement she considers one of her greatest professional milestones. Through her work and beyond, Crayton-Sabo remains deeply committed to connecting communities and businesses with resources that support growth across Alabama.

Biggest Influence Personally & Professionally: My family and friends have been instrumental in shaping my personal and professional development. I also can’t forget my two favorite mentors, the late Councilman Tracy Larkin and former Secretary Greg Canfield. Under their guidance, I gained invaluable wisdom and perspective. I’m deeply grateful that they took the time to teach me, support me and help me grow.
