Nic Wright serves as the Partnerships Manager for Montgomery Whitewater, a role he assumed in August 2024. As the leader in partnerships, Wright builds relationships, generates revenue and investments from private entities, and identifies the right partners for park events such as 5Ks, adventure races, and kids’ races. He also identifies entitlement and advertising opportunities for local businesses and corporations, using the park as a platform to build a more robust outdoor recreation community: “Bring the world to Montgomery and Montgomery to the world.”
Wright’s proudest career accomplishment is that he brought the first-ever hockey game to Montgomery on January 24, 2026. In addition to his professional work, he remains actively involved in the community as Vice President of the Montgomery Bicycle Club and as an Ambassador for the Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce. His roles involve promoting recreational and competitive cycling, planning events, organizing group rides, supporting bike donation programs, attending ribbon cuttings, networking with local businesses, and welcoming new Chamber members.
Key to Success: I believe in viewing everything as a learning opportunity. Every experience, positive or negative, can be used to learn a useful lesson, and keeping that attitude has consistently put me in positions to be successful.
Guilty Pleasure: Hungry Howie’s Pizza. Old habits die hard!
High School Superlative: I did not have one, but I like to think it would have been “most likely to be invited to your wedding but not the obligation to be IN your wedding.”
Childhood Aspirations: A Taxi Driver. I always thought the simplicity of driving around and making money would be the ultimate freedom.
First Job: Cutting grass for my grandparents. My dad made me pitch it to my grandfather and even draw up a contract for him to sign, agreeing to a price and schedule.
Best Advice: “If you want to change the world, have dinner with your neighbors.” It doesn’t have to be complicated—just do the small things consistently.
Biggest Influence Personally & Professionally: My wife, Megan. She sees my blind spots and knows me better than I know myself most days. I regularly lean on her advice and guidance to make important decisions; she is my best friend, and I always strive to make her proud.
